Columbia 29 Tranquility is for Sale
Tranquility has been up for sale since last May. I can’t believe I am typing these words, but this statement is very real. She and I are too far geographically, and in the past months she has been sitting unused in Puertito de Güímar, her home since I sailed her across the Atlantic in 2020. She is not designed to be an empty sailboat tied to a dock. Tranquility needs a new owner who is able to give her the tender loving care she requires.
Friends told me they can hardly imagine me without Tranquility. I also find it difficult, but I accepted it is time to let her go. She was a good teacher and she prepared me for many life situations.
Tranquility was bought in Fairhaven MA, she was meticulously restored, has sailed all along the US East Coast with more reparations done in Brunswick, GA. She then continued to the Bahamas, Panama and back to Georgia. From there our last long trip together was across the pond, to the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
